We really enjoyed our visit to Philadelphia on Friday. We walked all over from Penn's Landing up to Boathouse Row above the Philadelphia Art Museum. So much of the city is green and seems much more suburban than like a real city. There weren't too many people or cars - maybe because it was a Friday in the summer and most people were away at the beach. This is a view of the Lippincott building from Washington Square.
The view above was my favorite little street off of Delancey in the Society Hill district. It was amazing to think of driving down these narrow cobblestone roads, but apparently people do it.

Below is Friendship Gate in Chianatown. Its hard to take a good photo of it, but fortunately the fire truck came through to add a little extra interest. I really liked this statue of Ben Franklin as his coat is made up of tiny keys.
I love this glimpse of the modern glass buildings among the older ones. Below I was able to capture the old and the new buildings with my wide-angle lens and rather liked the leaning effect. On the left is City Hall and on the right is the Masonic Temple.
Love Park was really cool. There was a band playing and lots of people enjoying the beautiful flowers and huge fountain.

The Cathedral of Saints Peter and Paul was a wonderful, cool haven from the sweltering heat. It was so beautiful with the domes, paintings and carvings throughout.
